Betty Tydeman Griffin, 85 of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at her residence. She was born on December 29, 1917 in Tulsa, OK, the daughter of the late Gustaaf Frederick and Mabel M. Tydeman.
Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband, the late Harry A. Griffin.
She is survived by her children, Lin Griffin of Charlotte, Toni G. Frink of Isle of Palms, SC, and Susan G. Clegg of Charlotte, as well as 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.Betty was very much interested and knowledgeable in world history and geography. Her love of cats was evidenced by her contributions to various feline organizations. Her love and gift of sharing will be surely missed by her surviving friends and family... she was a real trip!
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 PM Saturday afternoon, March 22, 2003 at Harry & Bryant Company, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Disease & Related Disorders Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Dr.,Charlotte, NC 28215-3220, or to ASPCA, 424 East 92nd St., New York, NY, 10128.
Harry & Bryant Company is serving the family of Mrs. Griffin.
