Betty H. Hiebel formerly of Northbrook and Libertyville Funeral services for Betty H. Hiebel, 71, of Fontana, Wis., formerly of Northbrook and Libertyville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville. Born Dec. 21, 1930, in Chicago, she passed away Friday, July 5, 2002, at her home. Retired from Baxter International in Deerfield, Betty had lived in Fontana for the past nine years. She was an excellent gardener and a member of the Fontana Garden Club. Surviving are her husband, Edward Hiebel; children, Greg (Lynda) Hiebel of Algonquin and Beth (Kurt) Martin of Westmoreland, N.H.; grandchildren, Sam, Melissa, Will and Katie; and brother, Harry (Kathy) Shanks of Jupiter, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Catherine Shanks; and sister, Agnes Mace. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Contributions in her memory may be made to Lake Geneva Hospice or to the American Cancer Society. Friends may visit www.dailyherald.com/obits to express condolences and sign the guest book. Dear Ed and Family: You have our deepest sympathy. I worked with Betty at Culligan for a number of years. We will always have fond memories of Betty and her great laughter. I know how much you will all miss her.
