Betty Parmer Reagan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 23, 2025.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

(Psalm 23:6)

Betty Yvonne Parmer Reagan, 88 years old, passed away on September 2, 2024, in Temecula, California.

Betty was born in Killeen, Texas, to Emma Augusta Parmer and Johnnie Alvin Parmer (Jap). Jap was a farmer and cattle rancher. When she was young, the family moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico, where she helped on the farm and even won her parents a new refrigerator in a newspaper contest.

She graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a Liberal Arts degree and spent 40+ years teaching elementary school students - primarily second grade -in New Mexico, Texas, California, and Virginia. She was a patient and dedicated teacher, retiring from Stafford County Schools in Virginia at the age of 71.

In her post-retirement life, she was passionate about her bird and garden decor shop in Old Town, Temecula, where she delighted in socializing and displaying flamingo-themed lawn decorations.

Friends and family remember Betty as loyal, wise, hilarious, fun, and lovingly feisty. She loved her family fiercely and was the family's rock. Mom/Grandma is the one we went to for everything whether it be advice, an opinion, or a fun conversation. She was always there. She had boundless energy and we love and miss her so very much.

At 4'10" Betty always drove a Toyota truck. She took delight in cruising around town to catch all the weekend's best yard sales, and enjoying her senior diet cokes.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy and Kelly; her four grandchildren, Katie, Molly, Meg, and Drew; and her three great grandchildren, Malia, Shiloh, and Josey. Betty was preceded in death by her older brother, Billy and her first grandchild, Nelson.

A private service will take place in Killeen, TX.
