Betty Lee Riordan

Betty Lee Stratton Riordan, 65, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.

Mrs. Riordan was born in 1943, in Richmond, Virginia, the daughter of the late Everett Clark and Dorothy Lee Stratton. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Winchester, Virginia. Mrs. Riordan was a member of the Winchester Medical Center Auxiliary having served for twenty-four years. She was a graduate of Sullins College receiving an A.S. Degree and Shenandoah University receiving an R.N.

She married Edward Joseph Riordan (Cmdr USN, Ret) on January 20, 1973, in Richmond, Virginia. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1996.

Surviving are "her girls", Vera Trice Cesnik of Winchester, Virginia, Kimberlee Ryan Riordan of Stephens City, Virginia; and her brother, Temple Monroe Stratton of Fishersville, Virginia. One brother, Everett Clark Stratton, Jr., preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, at First Presbyterian Church, Winchester, Virginia, with Reverend Dr. Richard Reifsnyder officiating. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, on Thursday, July 24, 2008, at 10:00 AM.

Pallbearers will be John Borg, George Caley, David Goff, Robert Hall, Terry Hicks, John Markwood, Steven Riordan, and David Smith.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
