Betty Sokolowski Obituary
Betty is survived by her children, Jacob (Debbie) Sokolowski of Midland, Pennsylvania, Mitchell (Elaine) Sokolowski of Muskegon, Joseph (Linda) Sokolowski of Hesperia, Frank (Vickie) Sokolowski of Twin Lake, Roy (Susan) Sokolowski of Whitehall, Arthur (Sherri) Sokolowski of Montague, Mark (LuAnne) Sokolowski of Bitely, Edward Sokolowski of Bitely, Andrew (Caren) Sokolowski of Linden, Linda (John) Cook of Montague, and Lewis (Crindia) Sokolowski of Walkerville; 42 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her dog Sophie. She was preceded in death by her husband; 2 sons, Timothy and Thomas; her brothers and sisters, Jesse Smith, Nate Smith, Chuck Smith, Earl Smith, Bill Smith, Mary Wolgamont, Ruby Wright, Dorris Hill, Caroline Baker, and Lettie Quick.
Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 pm on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Wednesday, February 17 at the Amazing Grace Acres Church in Brohman with Pastor Lucky Fulton officiating. Interment will be in Volney Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial, friends are asked to consider Heartland Hospice. Friends may share memories and condolences online at www.crandellfh.com.

It's been 4 years since you joined our father in Heaven. I still feel the heartache everyday. Our dear Sophie joined you on November 30, 2019. I hope she is having a grand time being with her mama again. I miss you both so much. You are forever in our hearts. Love you Ma and Sophie.

I have only just heard of Betty's passing, and send thoughts and prayers to the entire family. I well remember your mother from my childhood visits to my dad's hunting land; she was a strong, resilient, amazing woman, and I'm happy that she was granted a full life and a beautiful family. I remember going to Betty and Franks with my parents Lew and Mary Ann Snyder. Betty was such as sweet woman. I think of her often, she will be missed

Grandma was an amazing women who was a font of strength and courage. Her tenacity is an inspiration to those who knew her. God has a plan for us and she has moved on to the next step in the plan and is surely enjoying her well earned rest.

Though I moved from Walkerville School 24 years ago, Betty Jane and I kept in touch. Each year I heard from her telling me about her children, grandchildren, and great grand-children. I treasured those letters. They were written just like a conversation. I knew the day would come when I didn't hear anymore, but I also knew one of the kids would notify me. God blesed me with the friendship of a very special lady. Love and hugs to all of the Sokolowski family.
