Betty Lee Wong, age 90, of Sacramento, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord & Savior. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John Gahn Wong, her parents, Wong Jook Yong & Lee Yan Wei, and several siblings. She is survived by her 5 children, Edna(Art) Hom, Nelly(Dennis) Shun, Eugene(Wendy) Wong, Eugson(Diane) Wong, and Johnson(Jeanne) Wong, 12 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Betty was the eldest of 8 children, was born in Toishan, China. In 1947, she married John and emigrated to the US. She worked at the local canneries for many years. Betty was a very loving, caring, and generous person. She loved to work in her garden and fruit orchard. She loved to share her bounty with friends and family. She was active in the Wong Family Assoc. Women's Auxiliary. She would help cook in the many parties and association gatherings. Her greatest joy were spending time with her family and caring for them. She provided childcare for her grandchildren as well as cooking weekly dinners. Betty really loved and enjoyed her family and friends. Betty will be dearly missed! A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Asian Community Center (ACC) Rides or ACC Senior Care Services, 7334 Park City Drive, Sacto, Ca. 95831.
