Beverley HOLTOM Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 21, 2004.
HOLTOM, Beverley Ann Sadly we lost Bev to cancer on Saturday, March 20th, 2004 at l:20 a.m. Bev died as she lived in her own way, on her own terms, in her own time. At home after a full day of visitations with close friends and family, Bev, after having said her good-byes slipped away as we held her in our arms. Bev's determination to live inspired us all as she struggled with this unrelenting disease. Bev was an integral part of several special families. She shared her love and cherished these relationships. She will be remembered by the special children in her life, Alexandra, Adam, Amy, Colter, Jordan and Hunter. Known fondly to most as "Bevie", she embraced the special people of her life and special moments with a sense of style & occasion, a tremendous smile and often an antic or two, always "best in class" for costume. She will be lovingly missed by her two sisters Valerie Haveman and Donna Holtom, her brother John Holtom, and their spouses Frank, Brian and Debbie, by her father, Dr. Paul Holtom and his spouse Maureen, nieces and nephews Gordon, Sean, Jessica, Brendan, Eric, Owen, Evan, Dayna, Justin and Ola, and by her extended family including uncles and aunts and cousins. Bev was predeceased by her mother, Betty and brothers Larry and Bob. Her incredible strengths were drawn from her strong life beliefs which embraced native spirituality and sacred ritual, chiropractic and holistic health, the life energy of nature and by her friends and family. Some of Bev's most memorable moments were spent with family and friends on a tropical beach, in the wooded forest of Round Lake, or "Standing By The Water" on the shores of Dunrobin. A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Church, 30 Cleary Ave., at 4 pm, Wednesday , March 24th. Donations in Bev's memory to the Palliative Care Outreach Program will recognize the outstanding care provided by Dr. Margaret Farncombe.
