Beverly Elaine Frazier, 83, of Palm Coast, Florida died at home Tuesday, December 27th with family by her side. Beverly was born December 31, 1938, to Myrtle L. (Goff) and Edwin O. Wilson (Lakeville, MA).
A retired paralegal with Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and an avid advocate for those less fortunate, Beverly worked tirelessly to help those in need of disability and housing assistance. Part of her work entailed helping the Ryan White Foundation clients with housing needs during the early days of the AIDS epidemic when AIDS patients were being denied housing and disability benefits.
Beverly also worked with Heifer International, a global nonprofit working to eradicate poverty and hunger through sustainable, holistic community development. One of the most memorable and now funny stories from that work included mom and her two youngest children (Aaron and Cindy) transporting a pair of sows to the Cayuga Nation in the Finger Lakes region of NY in a blizzard. The roads were impassible, and the truck broke down as they crossed into the reservation border, their destination.
Beverly was a devoted wife to her husband of 58 years, David, and dedicated mother to her four children--Sherree Frazier (Judy Mitchell), Marcia Hopkins (Scott), Cynthia Graham (Mark), Aaron Frazier (Kellie). She is also survived by her brother David Wilson. Beverly was a doting Memaw to her 5 grandchildren, Michelle Jennings (Jonathan), Lyndon Hopkins, Madeline Frazier, Kylie Frazier and Lily Graham and 2 great grandchildren Evelyn Jennings and David Hopkins. She was predeceased by her husband David, father Edwin, mother Myrtle and sister Shirley.
Beverly did not wish for a formal ceremony of her passing. She wished for her family and friends to celebrate her life and to remember, in her words, “I cared”. If anyone wishes to donate to a charity in her memory, Beverly’s favorites are Heifer International, www.heifer.org and Southern Poverty Law Center, https://www.splcenter.org/ .

Bev was a blessing to JALA and all the folks she served and all the staff she supported. She even put up with and hosted so many gatherings of our crazy crew at her house. I will miss my regular Christmas update and message on the state of our political leaders. Rest well to a good and faithful servant.

I knew Beverly in her early days at JALA - always a warm, caring greeting for colleagues and clients alike. I didn't know all the work she did after I left; I'm very impressed. I'm sorry to know there's no longer a Bev in the world. To all you offspring: your Mom was an admirable woman.

Bev was a most supportive, loving, and loyal wife mother and friend. Our Middleboro days together were enriched with membership in The League of Women Voters, swapping recipes and mutual babysitting. She was a very kind, compassionate and beautiful soul. My love to Sherrie, Marcia, Cindy and Aaron (whose diapers I used to change).
