Beverly Ruth Groves Hansen

Beverly Hansen, 88, of Bluffdale, Utah, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022.

Beverly was born Beverly Ruth Groves, on April 5, 1934 in Bountiful, Utah, to George Frederick Groves and Thelma LaVille Wright. She was the fourth of five children. She loved traveling, shopping, hosting holidays, her many friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a fabulous self-taught cook, and sang and hummed in the kitchen while making delicious meals like her famous Sunday roast. She loved outings and socializing, but never learned to drive, and had a lot of close friends and family who enjoyed chauffeuring her around. She was a doting grandmother and will be remembered fondly and missed deeply. She was generous, kind, and not afraid to speak her mind. She loved to laugh, and lit up the room with her contagious giggle and radiant smile. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Beverly married Alfred Daniel Hansen on September 26, 1951 in Winnemucca, Nevada. Together they had 3 children, Sherry (Hansen) Davis, Michael Hansen and Jeff Hansen. They also raised a grandchild, Leslie.

Beverly spent the last years of her life living at Truewood by Merrill, formerly Canyon Creek, in Cottonwood Heights, UT. She brought joy to all she knew and was a delight to the staff and residents.

Beverly is survived by one brother, Wayne Groves; sons, Mike and Jeff; grandchildren, Leslie, Jennifer, Telesa, Ryan, Jared, Ashley, Allison, Whitney, and Sean; and her many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Thelma; husband, Alfred; daughter, Sherry; granddaughter, Lyndsay; and siblings Eugene "Gene" Groves, Dale Groves and Helen Nadene Groves Skiver.

Graveside services will be held Monday, October 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT. Viewing will begin at 10:00 AM at the same location.
