Beverly Whiting, 93

May 20, 1932 - September 22, 2025

Beverly Whiting, 93, passed peacefully with her family by her side on September 22, 2025, at Woodlawn Care Center in Newport, NH.

She was born on May 20, 1932, in Littleton, NH, to Charles and Vivian (Bolduc) Berlanger and was raised in Lempster, NH, where she spent all but the last six years of her life.

On December 30, 1950, Beverly married Harold Whiting Sr. Together, they raised five daughters and one son, sharing 68 years of marriage before Harold's passing in 2018.

Beverly was particular and thoughtful in all her work. One summer, she worked in the laundry at Camp Coniston in Croydon, NH, where she became known for her personal touches-leaving kind notes in the staff laundry and returning everything found in their pockets.

In the 1950s, she sewed doll clothes from home-she could sew anything. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful houseplants and her flourishing vegetable and flower gardens. She was also a wonderful cook, a skill she passed on to her children.

Beverly and Harold also shared a passion for raising oxen, participating in local parades and pulling events at fairs. She also had a love for all animals, especially dogs, cats and chickens.

She is survived by her children: Charlene (Bruce) Truell, Shirley Allard, Sandra Whiting, Doreen Murray, Harold Jr (Heather), Lorraine (Joe) Newcomb.

She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Beverly is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Lyman and Joyce (William) Colby, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Harold, her brothers Donald and Glenn Berlanger, her sister Judith Johnson, and her son-in-law James Allard.

Beverly was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

As per her wishes, there will be no funeral services. Burial will take place alongside her husband at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite animal shelter or rescue organization in her memory.
