Bianca Pinchiaroli Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 5, 2005.
PINCHIAROLI-Bianca, of Douglaston Manor, passed on October 4, 2005, of old age in her home. Bianca married Ernest Pinchiaroli in 1934 and emigrated to America later that year. She lived the American Dream for over 70 years. She began her American experience in a tenement on Walworth Street in Brooklyn, taking in sewing and selling homemade soap to her neighbors. With Ernest, she eventually bought her own home and then started her own business, which she ran for nearly 50 years. Bianca is predeceased by her husband Ernest (2003) as well as her children, Mary (1991) and Dino (2004). She is survived by her large extended family; second mother to Mario Bottali, Eatons Neck, and grandmother to to Renee Ryan of Bayville, Dino Pinchiaroli of Roslyn, Christopher Pinchiaroli of Valhalla, NY, Jane Pinchiaroli of London, UK, Ernest and Jennifer Spooner, also of London. Greatgrandmother to 11 ranging in age from 18 months to 20 years. She is also survived by her younger brother, Silvio Broglia of Manhasset, who joined her in America shortly after her emigration and her loving care-givers Marco and Elen Pescetto of Eatons Neck. For nearly 50 years, she was the driving force behind the Flushing, NY, restaurant named for her, "Villa Bianca". Although a woman of limited formal education, Bianca never viewed her leadership of the business as unusual, though in the early years, many in the Queens Business Community did. She persevered and over the years, Bianca expanded the "Villa Bianca" from a tiny restaurant to a much larger one with catering facilities, a scond restaurant in Little Neck and a stand-alone catering hall in Flushing. Over the years, "Villa Bianca" served hundreds of thousands of guests, hosted thousand of weddings and other celebrations and served as a meeting location for many civic and other organizations. Bianca worked to provide a family environment for her guests and served, quite often as the first employer for many of her fellow Italian immigrants. She was also the first employer for many young people from Queens, who will remember her fondly. Customers will remember her warm demeanor and her commitment to customer service and excellent cuisine. She retired from business in 2000, and became a fulltime "Nonna" for the first time. Never one to remain idle, she again took up knitting, creating scarves and other articles of clothing for her great grandchildren. Visitation at Frederick's Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Blvd, Flushing, Thursday 7-10PM and Friday 2-5 and 7-10PM. Funeral Mass St. Andrew RC Church, Flushing, Saturday 10:45AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Woodside.
