Bill Miller Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 10, 2012.
Legendary Bill Miller of Bill Miller's Castle died at his residence in North Branford, Connecticut on July 10th, 2012. He was a lifelong performer, teacher, designer and entrepreneur, starting from humble beginnings in his father's grocery store in New Haven. An avid gymnast and acrobat, Bill performed nationwide on stage and on television. Bill started a gymnastics and dance studio with his family in New Haven. Bill moved the business to Route 1 in Branford in the early 60's. Because of his imagination as a designer, Bill Miller's Castle stands today as one of Branford's most unique event venues. Bill leaves behind his longtime companion Dorothy Lapine, his sister Janet Stigberg of Cheshire, his brother Michael Miller of Florida, his children Cheri Weymann and her husband Ray, Jan Miller and his wife Shaune, and Lisa Miller Smith and her husband Richard and his grandchildren Christina and Victoria Smith, all of Branford. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, and may attend a funeral service Friday morning at 11:00 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Branford.

Wow. So many great years as a dance student at the West Haven firehouse in the 60's and then in New Haven studio. Best years of my life. Thank you for the precious memories.
