BILL TROBAUGH Obituary

Published by The Chronicle on Aug. 20, 2009.
A celebration of life service honoring Bill Trobaugh will be held on Sat., August 22, 1:00 pm, at the Centralia Church of Nazarene.
William Leo Trobaugh was born on March 25, 1924 to LeRoy and Mae (Crittenden) in Sioux City, IA. Bill was the 5th child in family of 15 children.
During World War II, Bill served in the European Theater of Operation under General Patton. He was in the first wave of men who stormed the beach of Normandy, and also sent into one of the notorious German prisoner of war camps with the gas ovens to search out and rescue any live prisoner. He was honorably discharged from the Army on January 10, 1946.
Two and half months later on his birthday, March 25, 1946, he married Irma Lathrop in Sioux City, IA. To this union was born a daughter Sharon, 3 sons, Dean, Michael, and a baby boy who died at birth.
In 1947, the family moved to Centralia, WA as an engineer until his retirement in 1981. He was a long time member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irma, his son Dean, and the infant son who died at birth. He is survived by brothers and sisters in Sioux City, his daughter, Sharon Moody, sons, Mike and Jerry, 8 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
