Levelland- Billie "Bill" Joe Scott 92 of Levelland died April 19, 2018.

Funeral services will be held on April 23, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in Levelland, Texas. The Reverend Michael Holster officiating. Arrangements by George Price Funeral Home of Levelland, Texas. (1400-Ave J). Visitation will be on April 22, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at George Price Funeral Home.

Bill was born August 2, 1925 in Liberty Community, Lubbock County to Thomas Jefferson Scott and Nancy Eliza Sudderth, grew up in Liberty Community, and went to school in Idalou. Bill worked on the family farm during early years of his life. On April 22, 1944, Bill married Essie Mae Jarrett in Paducah, Texas. They continued to work and live on the family farm until 1945. Bill served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant from 1945-1947. During WWII event, Bill was sent to the Philippine Islands after the signing of the treaty as part of the reconstruction crew. Bill is honored on the Veterans War Memorial in Lubbock, Texas.

He then returned home to rejoin his wife and first son. The family moved to Lubbock, Texas where he became a carpenter and built many homes in Lubbock for 35 years. Bill owned Scott Construction and worked with his sons on hundreds of projects. Bill had multitude of friends and was known as the most honest man they knew. In 1976, Bill moved the family to Levelland, Texas where he worked for True Value Hardware in the construction division. He later started a new construction company in Levelland, Scott & Son Construction. The later working years of Bill's life. He worked for Hockley County road construction precinct 1, 2, and 4. Bill enjoyed doing small woodwork projects and building furniture in his shop. Fishing and hunting was his favorite sports. Singing was a passion in his life.

Bill lived his life with a zest for fun and laughter but his greatest commitment in life was to the Lord and Savior and then to his wife. He served many years in the Baptist Church as a music director, bus driver, usher and greeter. He loved his wife of 73 years and his family with all his heart. He was known to most who knew him as "Paw Paw".

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, 2 brothers and 2 sons (Billie Steve and Jerry Lynn) and 1 great grandson (Kevin Umberger). Left to cherish his memory of his wife Essie M. Scott of Levelland, Daughter in Law Sharlette Scoot of Amarillo, Daughter Jan Anderson and Frank of Levelland, Texas, Son Joe Scott and Cathy of Lubbock, Texas, Son Jeff Scott and Cindy of Arlington, Texas and Daughter Karen Daniel of Levelland, Texas. He had 12 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of friends and neighbors.

The family would like to thank the family of Second Baptist Church, the VA Home Bound Program, Accolade Home Health, Accolade Hospice and personal care provider Yolanda Hall for your love and services to our Dad in his last days.
