Billy Ray Cantrell, 73, of Abbeville, husband of Elizabeth "Lib" Davis Cantrell, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. He was born in Anderson, SC to the late Lee Troy & Maggie Thomas Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell was an employee for 20 years with the Ashley Medical Transport and a member of Bible Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Surviving Mr. Cantrell is his wife of 43 years of the home; four daughters, Shelley Ruff and her husband Bart of Abbeville, Heather Cantrell of the home, Vickie Briggs of Naples, FL and G.G. Hall of North Carolina; two brothers, Ted Cantrell and his wife Carolyn of Greenwood and Don Cantrell and his wife Jane of Gainesville, GA; two brothers-in-law, Shine Davis and Gene Davis of Abbeville, a sister-in-law, Patricia McCurry; and two grandchildren who were the highlight of his life, Audrey Ruff and Logan Ray of Abbeville. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00PM on Saturday, December 10, 2011 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Blackwell and Rev. Jack Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. The family is at the home. Memorial contributions, in memory of Mr. Cantrell, may be sent to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W.
