Billy Horton Obituary
Services will be at 2 PM Monday, December 3, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Rev. Jimmy Russell officiating and Coach John Smiley and Coach Bill Roseenthal will deliver the eulogy; burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his daughter: Ginger Carol Horton Murray (Steve) of East View, TN; a sister: Gail Jaggers (Steve) of Pontotoc, a brother: Jerry Horton (Helen) of Ecru; three grandchildren: Casey James, Luke Bond and Kaitlyn Murray; three nephews: Jason Horton (Starla), Eric Jaggers and Matt Jaggers; one niece: Elizabeth Jaggers and his great-niece and nephew: Myah and Jack Horton.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lee Russell Horton and Ruby Lee Whitehead Horton.
Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Horton, Coach Bill Rosenthal, Coach Mike Scott, Mike Heatherly, Casey James and Coach Sanrick Shannon. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jason Horton, Eric Jaggers, Matt Jaggers, Faculty and Staff of Plantersville Middle Schools, Superintendent of Education, Jimmy Weeks and Shannon Primary School Principal, Shelly Brooks.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Sunday and from 12 to 2 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Words cannot express the emptiness I feel knowing that he will not be with us any longer here on this earth. Our lives were truly enriched by him and his leading. Truly he had all of us in his heart and wanted the very best for all the faculty, staff, and students. Being his secretary, I saw on a first hand basis how tirelessly he worked for all of us. Mr. Horton was a wonderful principal and our class enjoyed his visits. The students were so happy the day he came to the gym and played with them. We will never forget those precious moments. The family is in my prayers.
