Bimla Sharma passed away with her family by her side in the early morning hours of June 25, 2025 joining her departed husband Mohan Sharma.

Funeral will be held on July 10, 2025 10am-12pm at La Paloma Funeral Services located at 5301 Longley Lane in Reno, NV.

Mrs. Bimla Sharma was born in the 1920's leaving behind a legacy for her family to be proud of. At a time when there was great violence acted out towards women, Bimla showed her strength. While she was growing up, she was provided with military training. It is this training that would lead her to display her strengths through her life. From an early age Bimla would jump in the deep and cold water wells of India showing how well she managed cold plunges. Bimla also ran 3 sewing schools and when her young students came to her about the harassment they were receiving from an older man who couldn't seem to keep his hands to himself she protected those young girls and made sure the man would never bother them again. During the India/Pakistan partition with the continued extreme violence against women Bimla offered her home and protection for any woman she could help. Thieves broke into her home while her children were home. During a time when thieves were known to callously murder anyone who was home to freely take whatever they could, Bimla fought off each of the thieves. It's not lost on her family that if those thieves were successful with their agenda, none of us would have been here. When her middle child was only 6 months old she was asleep in her room. Living in close proximity to a lab, a king cobra ended up getting loose and found its way into the baby's room. Without hesitation Bimla managed to fight off the extremely venomous snake. Bimla's husband, Mohan, worked at a bank. When one of his customers heard he was married to Bimla, the man who happened to grow up with Bimla had a sense of fear in him backing away as to not wanting to partake any further in the conversation.

Bimla is survived by her son, Mukesh (Abha) Sharma; daughters, Kiran (Virinder) Bali, Roma Sidher, Karanti Joshi, and Chanchal Sharma. Seven beloved grandchildren: Sarita, Sanjeev (Lonnie), Sandeep, Ashum, Savina (Christian), Sonika, and Mohit as well as 3 great-grandchildren: Misha, Eshan, and Iyla.

Bimla is preceded in death by her husband Mohan Sharma, son-in-law Sham Sidher, mother Ratan Devi Sharma, father Pandit Bhagmal Sharma, and siblings.
