Blake Elliott, 62, of KCK, passed away September 27, 2015. A visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, October 1st at Chapel Hill – Butler, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Funeral services will be 1:30pm, Friday, October 2nd at the funeral home. Interment with Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Blake was born December 6, 1952 in Kansas City, KS to Harold and Zadah Elliott. He got his bachelor's degree from Park College and got his Masters from KU in business. Blake served in the Navy for several years with the rank of MM2 on a nuclear submarine. He married Olivia Olson on March 5, 1977. Blake worked for 34 years for the Board of Public Utilities, where he had 3 careers, the last being the Director of Electric Supply Planning. He was always looking for ways to incorporate alternative fuel sources, he retired in May 2012. He also taught at Park College for a time. In his teens, he was active in Kansas City Youth for Christ. He served as PTA President at Turner Highland Middle School and gave the Baccalaureate speech in 2000 at Turner High School. Blake played guitar and loved singing and was often the worship leader for several churches through the years, along with preaching and teaching. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed biking, and refinishing antiques for his home. Blake's greatest achievement was graduating to Heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Blake is survived by his wife of 38 years, Olivia Elliott; his sons, Dale Blake Elliott, and Stanley Alfred Elliott; his sister, Diane Mayhew; his nephew, Jacob Mayhew; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other friends and family.

Blake was without a question a true man. If he was able, he would still be working. there were no limits of his knowledge;or his qualities as a leader. He was always respected by all. And he always showed respect to others.

I haven't seen Blake in years, but I remember him well , as we grew up in the same neighborhood . He was a good friend and playmate. He will surely be missed by both his old friends and new. RIP Blake you earned it.

Dear Olivia,
What great memories I have of you and Blake as teenagers at KCYFC! You were involved in everything and music was a vital part. We watched you two fall in love and get married. I'm so proud of all he did in so many areas of life! Two college degrees, service in the Navy, College professor, PTA President ,Baccalaureate speaker, worship leader, preacher and teacher, husband and father! Al would be so proud!
