Bob McWhorter

On Tuesday, January 2, 2024, with his family close by, Billy Bob McWhorter, age 76, came into the unblemished presence of God's glory.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Harvest Christian Fellowship, Sonny Smart and Rick Moeller officiating, with Archer Funeral Home directing.

If you're reading this to figure out who Bob is, you probably missed out. For him, life was something he enjoyed, and the people he was around enjoyed it with him. Bob has always been known for his humor and his ability to make others laugh. We were always told not to laugh at him because it encouraged him to continue...

He was a dedicated, selfless worker. He could and would do anything for you. One of the few things that he couldn't do well was sit still. He always had to be moving and working. He was either working for someone in need or he was taking care of his cattle. Work was his hobby and his passion.

Bob spent many years helping people with their finances and keeping their businesses moving forward. While he spent years as a banker, it was such a small part of who he is...

God has a way of making us uncomfortable and nudging us in a direction of growth to get us to where He wants us to live. He loves us.

For Bob, it was a tremendous experience. He lived to serve God and his wife. He lived to serve others through the Walk to Emmaus. He lived to be a good father and PaPa. He lived. He loved his parents. He had a deep respect for them and honored them always. His mother, Pig, can still vouch for this at age 98.

For 51 years, he loved his wife Cindy and had a bond with her that God helped grow into something unique and selfless. That bond was made strong through their love of Christ. He was a daddy that loved his two boys Lance and Marc. He had a special relationship with his daughter-in-love Christa that always made her feel loved and welcomed above all else. He would give of himself for any of them at any time. He was truly selfless. He is PaPa to four grandsons. Everett, Glenn, Gray, and Gage, who all love their PaPa - and he loved them.

One of the many legacies that he gave his family was strong relationships with his pastors. He loved his pastors and heard the Father's wisdom through them. He taught his sons how to hear God through them as well. He was blessed with pastors that were not only wonderful teachers, but great friends. This is part of the legacy that is passed down to his sons and grandsons.

Bob's prayer life was a very private thing that involved so many of us daily. He prayed diligently for people out loud every night with Cindy. We should all be thankful for these prayers on our behalf-another part of his legacy.

Bob was a giver. He was called to be a good steward of his talents and Father God continued to bless him because of his obedience and how he gave to others. Many of us have been blessed because of his stewardship. Bob had wide circles where he influenced people on many different levels. From banking, Emmaus, ranching, church life, his hunters, and especially his family, Bob made a good impact on people. These circles don't need to stop today. Keep them growing as part of his legacy until we meet again.

While he will always be missed here on Earth, we know that he is worshipping Father and rejoicing in the full presence of the King. We cannot fathom the glory that he is experiencing. We look forward to the day that we get to share in this with him in Eternity.
