Bob "Too Tall" Zuidervliet age 52 of Westville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in Valparaiso, IN. He was born June 6, 1957 in Patterson, NJ to Robert and Dorothy (Berryman) Zuidervliet, who survive of River Edge, NJ. Bob is also survived by his wife, Darlene Zuidervliet of Westville, IN; daughter, Alison (Justin) Penland of Auburn, IN; son, Jake Zuidervliet of Portage, IN; step-children, Candy (Dale) Johns of Westville, IN, Jamie Bland of Fort Wayne, IN, and Jesus (Randi) Juarez of Porter, IN; former wife and friend, Joyce Russell of Portage, IN; brother, Ken (Erin) Zuidervliet of River Edge, NJ; sister, Nancy (Rich) Curran of River Edge, NJ; 9 grandchildren; aunt, Cora; 4 nieces and 1 nephew. Bob was an area resident since 1977, coming from New Jersey and worked as a Millwright for Mittal Steel. He was a member of Porter County HAWG Hunters, Harley Davidson Abate Association and Stroud's Bad Boyz-Riding Dinner Club. Bob was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. I knew Bob when he was married to Joyce and I really liked Bob, it was really tough to hear about his passing, he will be in my thoughts and prayers. And my thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and friends. Memories are a gift from God.
