Bobbie Lee Turner, 85, of Russellville, died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born May 20, 1927, at Van Buren, Arkansas, to Troy Lee and Nestor Fort Matlock Turner, and was the youngest of six siblings. Although he lost his father when he was only 4 years old, Bob always felt blessed with a strong and loving mother, 4 big brothers and a sister. Bob served in World War II, then in the Korean Conflict, spending a year in Korea with the CID. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1956, with a degree in accounting. In Russellville he was controller of Arkansas Valley Industries, then for 28 years he was accounting manager of Williams-Lowrey Clinic. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Kenneth, Leroy and Zack Weston, and his sister, Wanda Van Horn. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jeanie Turner; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dr. Finley and Raye Turner of Russellville, Stephen and Bonnie Turner of Fayetteville, and Marc Turner of Springdale; a brother and sister-in-law, Finley and Evelyn Turner of Fort Smith; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Central Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Brian Brock by Shinn Funeral Service. Burial in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith will be private. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 400 West Main Street, Russellville, Arkansas 72801; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
