Bobby was a really pleasant and down to earth guy when he moved to an RV Park I had just developed at Spicewood, in 2003. He would have me come to his trailer and play some nice tunes during the day, and always had a nice smile, or laugh to share. One day that year he stepped out of his trailer and said to me," I just won a W C Handy award", grinning after just getting off the phone with the news. The world was a better place with Bobby, and I know he is still smiling and playing above.

Bobby and I were great friends, Bros. for 48yrs. We played some together and had alot of goodtimes together. I enjoyed his music and he liked mine. I was so proud of his many accomplishments. He and his brothers were like having brothers of my own. Music brought us together. Bobby is another friend I have lost and will never forget.

I knew Bobby from his days of playing at the Castaways Club in Chattanooga. Several of the horn players in his band were in the band with me at UTC. He was a good guy and will be missed.
Best of luck to all his family and friends.

I just found out about Bobby's passing this afternoon - too late to head to Dunlap. I had known Bobby since 1986, having gotten him to quite a few Tommy Jett Entertainer's Reunions and doing an interview with him for Brevis Magazine. I am sadden to learn of his death and I pray that he was right with our Savior.
I have the website www.ChattanoogaEntertainers.Com and have just published what I could find this evening. See:

PLEASE contact me at 423.802.9130 and let me know about the "Celebration of Life" so that I can attend and promote it to all of the Chattanooga entertainers that know Bobby and worked with him over the years.
Thanks, and God bless you all.
