Bonnie Gordon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 9 to Sep. 10, 2018.
Gordon, Bonnie Owen
Bonnie Owen Gordon was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on March 18, 1958, the second daughter of Shirley Bury Gordon, of Providence, and the late Henry (Hank) Augustus Gordon, Jr. She died unexpectedly in her Tiverton home on September 1, 2018 at the age of 60. She lived most of her life in Rhode Island. Bonnie's light was a beacon that shone brightly. It illuminated her path and all who walked beside her. Sweet music flowed from her heart as a songwriter, vocalist, pianist, and artist. Her two CDs, the first one titled "Bonnie Gordon" and the second, "This Modern World", uniquely captured her soulful lyrics. She inherited her musical talent from her parents, Shirley and Hank. She enjoyed making music with them very much. She and her Dad cheerfully played music as a dynamic duo whose sparkling eyes brought joy to the world. Bonnie's creativity was not only expressed in music but also through her line of artisanal jewelry. Nature brought her home spiritually and she was especially attuned to the rhythm of the ocean. Compassion, kindness, and generosity describe Bonnie well. Her gentle charisma was especially felt through her smile, laughter, and sparkle. She was beautiful inside and out. Her spirit will always live on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She will be missed very much by many including her mother, Shirley, her sisters Heather Fox and Carrie Coren, her brother Adam Gordon, her beloved fiancé, Paul Shaw, of San Diego, California, her cousin, Patience Thomas, of Louisville, Colorado, and their families, as well as by her devoted cat, Harvey.
Friends and family are invited to remember and celebrate Bonnie's life on Saturday, October 20th, from 12pm to 3pm at the Boat House Restaurant, 227 Schooner Drive, Tiverton, RI 02878. A lunch will be served.

I just now learned of Bonnie's passing. She was my bestie from age 4-13. Most everyday I would spend afternoons at 22 Rich Street with her and the Gordon's. Her obituary captured her essence - she was a most gentle and kind human being and I adored her. I would only get to catch up with her every few years since moving to Calif 36 years ago. My sincere condolences to Shirley, Heather, Carrie and Adam. Bonnie was a beautiful person who made such an impact on my life by her warmth and sensitivity and I will always remember her.

I'm so sad to hear of Bonnie's passing. I know her from 3 Steeple St. days in Providence (when we were so young!) We reconnected some years back through social media. Prayers and condolences to the family. She was a gentle, bright light. Much aloha ❤

Losing Bonnie is just awful. She was so talented. I loved working with her on the two albums we did. Listening to her sing and play was like being in a room with a fairy - I didn't make a peep, worrying that if I did, she'd disappear.
My sincere condolences to her friends and family. She, and her music, will live in my heart forever.

Words are never adequate in moments like these. We will say though, that our hearts go out to the family, and we will always remember the joyous memories that we are privileged to have in knowing Bonnie the past few years.

We are so sad to hear of Bonnie's passing. My dad was the pastor of Central Falls Congregational Church and thought the world of this family. I have known Bonnie since childhood through church and the dance studio in East Providence. Our sincere condolences to Shirley, Heather, Carrie, Adam and the rest of the family. Bonnie was an amazingly talented and beautiful soul. She will be missed. You are all in our thoughts and prayers!
