After a lengthy illness, on Thurs., Sept. 2, 2004, Bradford E. Knapp, age 50, of Pine Twp; beloved son of Richard E. Knapp and the late Jewel McNeil Burke Knapp; brother of Lisa & her husband James Lorenzi, Laura & her husband Thomas Cheryba & Kenneth & his wife Alysia Knapp; former husband of Margie Knapp & Pamela Tiger; father of Alexis, Joseph, Zack and Rio Knapp; also survived by eight nieces and nephews. Brad was renowned as a carpenter with unique and artistic skills with wood that earned the respect of co-workers who would label some of his more innovative works as "Bradisms." His most recent activity was in repairing storm damaged original homes on the beach at Nags Head on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He loved nature and the outdoors and particularly the national parks in the west, having hiked through the Grand Canyon and many other beautiful venues. He also loved the coast of Costa Rica where he camped out on the beach with his family. He was an avid historian and philosopher, as well as a writer. He was writing the story of his long battle with cancer when he succumbed. As a teacher & philosopher, he touched many lives as evident by the many letters, calls & visits from friends during his last months. Visitation with the family one hour prior to service, where a Memorial Service will be at 3:30 pm on Sat., Sept. 11 at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 7720 Perry Hwy. Family suggests contributions to Family Hospice & Palliative Care, 1423 Liverpool St. Pgh. PA 15233.

Mr Knapp, Lisa, Ken,& Laura, I am so sad to hear of Brad's passing. I hope more than anything else, that he was able to reach a peace with himself and his family and I take comfort in the fact that he is now in the arms of God and in the company of his beloved mother.
