Janice Kay Hurte, beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on April 23rd, 2025, at the age of 72. Born in Akron ni 1952, Janice spent her life brightening others' days with her radiant smile and her infectious laughter. She was a resident of Cuyahoga Falls her whole life, where she cherished her home and community.
Janice's career was marked by dedication and passion. For 22 years she graced Vernon Custom Draperies with her talent and commitment before embracing a new adventure as co-owner of The Northside, a vibrant Blues and Jazz club for eight unforgettable years. Later, she ended her career as a Title Clerk at Cascade Auto Group where she worked for 19 years until her well deserved retirement.
Family was at theheart ofJanice's world. She is survived by her loving husband, David Hurte, her devoted mother, Dorothy Schley, her brother Mike Irey, step mother, Jeanne Irey, daughter, Amy Staubs (Jim Staubs), son, Jason Miller, grandchildren, Alex Miller, Samantha Staubs, Brady Staubs and Rylee Miller. Great grandchildren, Wyatt and Hadley Kirkland. Janice is preceded in death by her father Robert Irey and brother David Cole.
Janice wil be remembered for her groove on the dance floor, her love for music, and her family gatherings. She had the ability to landscape a beautiful yard and interior design a home, but let's not forget her ping pong skills. She made lasting memories on all those that she loved.
