Bradley Weston Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 21, 2016.
Brad was born on May 9, 1949. Passed away on Dec. 13, 2016 after a long, valiant struggle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder brought on by extended combat in Vietnam and Cambodia. A lifelong Sacramento resident, Brad graduated from Luther Burbank High School in 1967 and went on to earn an Associate Arts Degree with honors from Sacramento City College. He was self-employed for many years, then worked for Farmer's Rice Coop for the last 25 years until his recent retirement. Brad was drafted into the Army in Aug. 1969 and completed his boot camp and infantry training at Ft. Lewis, Washington. He served with distinction in Vietnam and Cambodia from Jan. - Nov. 1970. He was awarded the Bronze Star with V for valor for heroism in ground combat on May 2, 1970. He then went on to earn a second Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged in June, 1971 at Fort Hood, Texas. Brad and his beloved wife Nancy enjoyed the great outdoors, especially their many trips to Yellowstone, The Grand Tetons, Alaska, Yosemite and the Pacific Coast. Brad will be missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife Nancy, son Jeremiah, brother Craig and devoted mother Adeline, along with his cousins. Uncle Gene and his wife, Irene and Aunt Jenny. He was preceded in death by his father Harry. Brad will also be missed by his loving dogs Buddy and Jack and his precious cats Katie and Max. At his request, no services will be held.
