Brenda Kelleher Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 17, 2025.
Brenda Kelleher, beloved wife and cherished community member, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, at Sutter Hospital in Antioch, California. She was surrounded by love in her final moments.

Brenda was the devoted daughter of Charlie and Joyce Lyles and loving sister to Chuck, all of whom preceded her in death. She found her soulmate in Sean Kelleher, and they were united in marriage on April 7, 1979, beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned 46 wonderful years.

For many years, Brenda and Sean made their home in San Lorenzo, where Brenda became a fixture in the community through her work as a laundry attendant. Her colleagues and the customers at the laundromat knew her for her unique, radiant smile and infectious laugh that could brighten anyone's day. Brenda had a special gift for making people feel welcome and valued, turning routine errands into moments of genuine human connection.

Brenda's warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she brightened and in the heart of her devoted husband, Sean.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Services

A celebration of Brenda's life will be held at the First Southern Baptist Church of San Lorenzo on Oct 19 at 3pm. All who knew and loved Brenda are welcome to attend and share in remembering her beautiful life.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests acts of kindness to strangers, something Brenda did naturally every day.

As Sean's sister, I spent nearly a lifetime with "those two nutty kids", who were madly in love with one another. I wish Brenda peace in her journey, and Sean much love and comfort as he adjusts to this time without her partnership. But I also trust they'll meet again some day soon. - Robin (Sean's oldest sister.)

I've known Brenda since I was quite young - she was always a loving presence in Sean's life. Sean and Brenda shared one of the longest, most devoted marriages I've known. Thinking fondly of Brenda and the love she gave to Sean and all those around her.
