SKIRROW, Brenda Joyce
Brenda was born in Jasper, Alberta on January 21, 1953 and passed away peacefully on August 8, 2014.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Christine, David, and Erin, as well as her precious granddaughter Emma.
Brenda is also survived by her parents Dennis and Lillian Marshall, Sister Christine (Syd), Brothers Frank (Wendy) and Bruce, her nieces and nephews Jennifer (Richard), Andrea, Erin (Colin), Kathryn and Brent (Kara).
Brenda's family would like to extend a special Thank You to Brenda's "second family" the caring staff from the GRIT Program, for their kindness and friendship during Brenda's journey. Thank you to the Strathcona County EMS, doctors Silverajah, Noush Mirhosseini and Collotin for their guidance and care, and the staff of Units 43 and 54 at Grey Nuns Hospital for the loving care they gave Brenda.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., Glenwood Funeral Home, South of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park, Alberta.

I had the gift of working with Brenda at GRIT for 10 years. Apart from the kindness that radiated from her in such a gentle way, it was her smile that lit up a room that I remember so well. Blessings as you celebrate her life and mourn the empty place in your family's circle. May we all be comforted knowing that her spirit dances in the hearts of those whose life she touched.

Our thoughts are with Brenda's family. Len went to grade school with Brenda and I am a friend of Bruce so we were friends in our early marriages. Time took us apart but I recall good times. Brenda was lovely and a lovable woman. May your memories comfort you.

I worked with Brenda when we were both "newbies" at Grit. Such an important person in my development as an educator and as a person. I have lost touch I am sad to say over the years, but to her family, I will just reinforce what you already clearly know - she was the kindest person I maybe ever knew. I am so gad that I had the chance to know her, learn from her and love her.
