I just learned of Brendan's passing. He was so well-loved in the Little League community. My family and I will remember his infectious smile, positive approach, and kind words to all he encountered.

No one I knew had both more talents and less inadequacies than Brendan. No one remembered names and faces better, or cared about them all more, than he did. He was the best at life. He was entirely unique. He was not just my umpire colleague - he was my dear friend.

I met Brendan a couple of years ago thru his partner Jessica. My interactions with him has always been enjoyable! He's kind, loves to help out anyway he can. He loves Jessica, Declan, Cormac but also ADORES & LOVES Trini to the fullest like I do! Every now & then I would see him around town & I know it's him by the sound of the massive amounts of keys he would have on his keychain :) :)
R.I.P Brendan we will all miss you.

I have a specific memory of Brendan helping my kids set up a lemonade stand one time during elementary school. They were so excited to have the stand, and he was so encouraging helping out and being a good customer. What a wonderful human! And what a strong role model he has been for Alameda baseball youth. Sending love and light to Laura, Megan, Ally, and family.

To the Barker Family - I am so sorry to hear of Brendan's passing. While I did not know him as an adult. I do remember him on the many times I hung out at your house. He was always so friendly and had a huge smile on his face. What a beautiful tribute to him, I enjoyed reading about his accomplishments and what he gave to the Alameda Baseball Community. I know he will be missed by family, friends and the community.

I remember hitting dingers in little league and him always cheering me on and giving me props. Thank you for being a good ump and such a great genuine person.
God bless you, I will pray for you and your family.

You´re gone too soon Brendan. You were the kindest person I´ve ever met and always had something thoughtful to say. You´re reunited with your dad and brother now. My thoughts are with your wonderful family, partner, and Alameda baseball.

Rest easy, Brendan. What started as a landlord-tenant relationship turned into a real friendship, and I´m grateful for that. You were always kind, real, and easy to talk to. You´ll be missed more than words can say. Thank you for the laughs, the talks, and the good energy you always brought around.
Til we meet again, my friend.

Brendan Barker was one of the most genuine people I have ever known, and was a true friend to the DeCourcy family for many years. I always looked forward to seeing his smile and engaging in banter with him out on the ball fields. He umpired and mentored all 4 of our sons, who each admired him very much. Brendan would always text me when he saw our kids around Alameda, making sure that they were not getting into too much mischief :) - He also came by our house to check on them one time when we were out of town pretending to be a police officer. I hope Brendan knew how much impact he had on so many. He was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. RIP, Blue!
