Brent,

It was a delight growing up around the corner from you in Braeswood, and appearing before you in court was always a pleasure. Ready with kind words and encouragement…these were your trademark. A bright light has gone out on earth, but a brighter one shines in heaven. Farewell, old friend, and welcome home.

Burg was a prince of guy. Always available, gracious, kind and a great sense of humor, even when he rendered an unfavorable decision. If you "panned" for people a lifetime, you would be lucky to find another "nugget" like Burg. I miss him already.

Judge Burg epitomized all of the great qualities that we long for in our judiciary; but even more importantly, he was a warm, caring, human being who will be surely missed. The litigants that appeared before him were greatly served because he lived.
