Eileen and family,
Just wanted to express my sincere condolences on the sudden passing of Brent. It was so neat to reconnect with him again after so many years had lapsed from high school/university days. He always spoke about his family with pride...and I am confident that he has left an indelible mark on his family, his colleagues, his Scouts, and all those he had befriended, laughed with, and mentored over these past years. Stay strong, Eileen and cherish those many, many happy memories.

I posted a message several days ago but I must have done something incorrectly for I do not see it now.
Eileen and family, please accept our deepest sympathy. Fred and I still remember Brent as a young crucifer at St.Luke's. Unfortunately, we were not aware of his passing.
The memory of the righteous will be a blessing. Proverbs 10:7

To the family of Brent Hussey,
We went to grade school and high school together, but I haven't seen Brent in many years. I haven't lived in Montreal since 1979. Having lost my brother John also this past year, I'm so sorry to hear this news. I always think of Brent fondly, he was a sweet, cheerful person and I'm sure he never changed. Condolences to your family.

To Eileen & the Hussey Family:
I was shocked to learn of Brent's passing yesterday, having spoken with him just before Christmas.
Our families go way back to when Jack & my father worked together at the Star, followed by our mothers keeping in touch until recently. Brent & I got to know each other well while delivering newspapers together at 10 years old and later working at the Star for the summer.... Since then, we have kept in touch, albeit with long interludes.
Our family has always known Brent to be a solid, compassionate and thoughtful person, with a sense of humor that always put everyone at ease; true as a teenager through to his professional career.
Brent will always be remembered as "un homme tres sympathique"
We would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to you and your family on your loss.
Stephen Berns

I will miss Brent and his always upbeat temperament. He was a good friend and a fine lawyer. Although I moved away from Montreal many years ago, I always felt close to him and tried to stay in touch. I remember him in his apartment near law school and his first law office in Julio and Verna Peris' house on Pine. Fond memories. My condolences to Eileen and the kids. He was a great guy.

To the Hussey Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathies. Brent was such a wonderful person, he was always there to help everyone, whether it was at a Cub meeting, thru his law practice or thru his many charitable endeavours and good works, he was always giving of himself. His love of you all, his dear family, his friendship and kindness to everyone, his love of life, and of a good "Newfie" joke, are what we will remember most about Brent. Everytime we saw Brent, he was always so proud of his kids, and of Eileen. Such a good man!!
Our thoughts are with you.

My condolences to the Hussey Family. Brent was always a pleasure to talk with after the Sunday services. It was especially nice when he was a sidesperson and counted with me. He often told stories of his family and his many adventures be it scouts, home renovations, his practice or politics. Since my father was also Hungarian we often talked about the great food and spices that went with it. Every year at the annual church roast beef dinner he could be counted on to carve it as only a true master could ( never mention electric knife! ).
We will all miss him greatly

My deepest sympathies to Eileen, Kevin, Kathleen, and Graham for your loss, as well as to anyone who had Brent as a part of their lives. I first knew Brent as one of my Cub, and then Scout, leaders, but in later years, he would constantly provide me with challenging new opportunities that would snowball to be greater experiences than I could ever have imagined. It is very evident that Brent provided many people with great memories and lessons, and there is no doubt that he left this world better than he found it.

Brent articled for me and spent his early career in my law office. I met Brent when he volunteered as a staffer at the McGill Legal Information Clinic, where he subsequently became student Executive Director and one of my successors as leader of the Clinic. His contibution to the Clinic has helped make it one the most important law student run legal Clinics in Canada. Those many years ago he impressed me as intelligent, responsible and jovial. He struck me as having the makings of a fine lawyer, which he became. Over the years I would occasionaly see him in Court. Unfortunately we did not have a case together. Your loss is also a loss to the community and the profession. I trust the value of this very human being will endure in your family.

Eileen, Kevin, Kathleen & Graham:
First of all my deepest and sincere sympathies go out to all of you. Brent was my first boss in 1981. I was only 17 and he and Julio gave me the chance that I needed to become the legal secretary that I am today. I worked with Brent for over 20 years. He was there when I got married in May 1985, went through 3 maternity leaves, took time off for 5 years, and when Nicole wanted to move on he called me and of course I went back. Brent was a jolly person. Always happy and ready to give anyone a helping hand. I had reconnected with him a few weeks ago through Facebook and we chatted a bit. Brent couldn't beleive that I was already a grandmother. We never know what lies ahead, we must enjoy life one day at a time and cherish evey moment that we have with our loved ones. Brent will be missed by everyone. Thanks Brent for being you.
Love always,

Eileen, Kevin, Kathleen and Graham:
My memories of Brent will always bring a smile to my face. The earliest one was my first Christmas in the choir of Church of the Resurrection - as he shared Newfie screech along the line of Tenors and Basses. The Sopranos and Altos have not forgotten. Coffee Times and Mens Breakfasts were punctuated with: `Hey, I`ve got one for you` - and along came a joke or shaggy dog story. Helping me with Sixer-Second training for Cubs, he inspired them of what to look forward to in Scouts; he introduced me to the `passing on the light` aspect of the investiture ceremony. Most recently, he joined me as a Santa Claus to bring the joy of Christmas to children of Pointe-Claire.
Brent has Gone Home, and left us with much for the future. My prayers are with you at this time.
