Brett D. Gustafson, 49, of Minocqua passed away on Saturday June 25, 2011 at the Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. He was born on November 13, 1961 in Rockford, IL to Donn and Lorraine (nee Layng) Gustafson. Brett loved the outdoors, fishing, canoe trips to the Boundary Waters, long motorcycle rides and especially his work with church youth groups. He is survived by his wife Rachel, daughter Breanne and son Josh. He is further survived by his mother Lorraine Gustafson of Minocqua, a brother Brad Gustafson of Eau Claire, niece Erica Gustafson of Eau Claire, brother in law Clark Wilson of Minocqua and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be on Friday July 1, 2011 at 4 PM at Ascension Lutheran Church in Minocqua. Rev. Dr. David Jensen and Father Jim Hoffman will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-4 PM at the church on Friday. Immediately following the services there will be a gathering at the Arbor Vitae Town Hall for all to attend. A memorial fund in Brett’s honor will be established.
