Brian Nicholas Brown "Brownie" (51) passed away peacefully at Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek, MI on December 14, 2021. Brian was born April 12th, 1970 at Oceanside Camp Pendleton, California to Gary Brown and Linda Marlow. He was a 1988 graduate of Harper Creek High School, where he played football and attempted to wrestle (his words not mine). You may have known Brian from working at Rock-Tenn, 20th St. Citgo, or perhaps from his frequent visits to Clyde's (before they closed), Oakland Hills Golf Course, or McGonigle's. If you knew Brian, you would likely agree that he was the kindest and most caring person, whose heart loved immensely. This is the section where normally we'd talk about how he enjoyed golfing, spending time with family/friends, and playing golf on Xbox. The truth is his favorite hobby was being a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Brian was always there to listen, provide a shoulder to cry on, and his hugs were the best. His goofiness, joking, and unconditional love blessed more people than he could have ever realized. Brian was preceded in death by his dad Gary Brown, stepmother, Patsy Brown, grandparents Furman and Berta Brown, Harold and Margaret Marlow, William Smith, and Charles Kelley. He is survived by his mother Linda (Harold) Marlow of Albany, IN, brother Gary (Robin) Brown Jr. of Augusta, GA, sister Traci (Eric) Gibson of Albany, IN, sister Sherry Smith of Florence, KY, brother Brent (Stephanie) Brown of Battle Creek, MI, significant other, Tamy Lopshire, many nieces and nephews, and countless other family and friends. Friends will be received 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Friends will also be received 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday at Battle Creek Friends Church, 1305 Olive St, Battle Creek, MI 49014. A funeral service to celebrate Brownie's life will be held at the church 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2021. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at https://vimeo.com/657148818. Committal and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Battle Creek Veteran's Affairs Medical Center for Personal Care Items or Transportation, Community & Volunteer Services (135), 5500 Armstrong Road, Battle Creek, MI 49037. Personal messages for the family may be placed in the Memory Book at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.

I will miss him .He was happy easy going and lovable . Rest in peace in Haven. God give us a wonderful man. Kathy .

Brownie was the one who nicknamed me The Fox that Rocks back in 1988 and it's stayed with me these 30+ ish years. I enjoyed riding in the Orange Duster car he owned with the awesome speakers and small steering wheel. I remember how broken he was when we all lost Todd Moondog Glen. Brownie was authentic. We need more people like him in the world.
