Brian Dean Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 3, 2015.
Brian Matthew Dean, 40, passed away February 2, 2015 in Marietta, Georgia.
Brian was born in Marietta on January 5, 1975 to John and Gail Dean. He graduated from Pope High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Kennesaw State University. He enjoyed working in a variety of areas and in recent years had established and run his own company -- Soulshine Collectibles -- buying, marketing, and selling antiques and collectibles.
Brian had a passion for helping others, especially children. He worked as a CASA for Children (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteer since 2012. That work, as well as his accomplishment of hiking the entire Appalachian Trail in 1998, provided some of the most satisfying experiences of his life. He was also known for his kindness, generosity of spirit, and compassionate support of anyone in need.
In addition to his many friends across the country, Brian leaves behind his mother, Gail Dean of Marietta; his father, John Dean of Tampa, Florida; his grandmother, Louise Harris of Huntsville, Alabama; uncles Stanley Harris and Chris Harris; aunt Lisa Harris; cousins Marlow, Lauren, and Samantha; and his beloved cat Blackie.

Friends and family are invited to attend a reception to celebrate Brian's life at H.M. Patterson and Son Canton Hill Funeral Home, 1157 Old Canton Road in Marietta, on Saturday, February 7, from 2:00 to 4:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CASA for Children, 100 North Street, Suite G22, Canton, GA 30114.
