Brian Farr Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 18, 2024.
Brian David Farr, 65, of Port Orchard, Washington, passed away on January 10, 2024. He was born on July 16, 1958, in Great Falls, Montana. Brian was a devoted and loving husband, a proud father, and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Brian was a man of very few words but had a heart full of love for his family. He always went out of his way to help his children and never turned down an opportunity to lend a hand. Brian took great joy in attending his grandchildren's sporting events and was their biggest fan. He had a passion for cooking, golfing, and working with his hands. His talent and creativity were unmatched, and he had a great sense of humor. Brian had a love for good beer and never met a cheese he didn't like.

In his career, Brian retired from the Department of Defense - Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Pacific Northwest, Bangor Washington, in July 2013. He served as a Waterfront Services Superintendent for 35 years of civil service. His dedication and hard work made a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community.

Outside of work, Brian enjoyed various hobbies, including golf, hiking, home renovation, woodworking, and cooking. He found solace and fulfillment in these activities, which showcased his passion and skill.

Brian's memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, Renee Farr, and his children: Tanya Farr, Jennifer Thebeau, Brandon Farr (Misty), Antonia Kruckeberg (Steve), and Lindsay Farr (Nick). He was a loving grandfather to Samantha, Daylen, Bradley (Cheyenne), Alexander, Bretton, Emily, Katelyn, Grace, and Andrew, as well as a doting great-grandfather to Audree and Beau.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Farr, and his mother, Darlene Farr. Their memories will forever be intertwined with his.

In accordance with Brian's wishes, there will be no services. Instead, an open house style "Celebration of Life" will be held in the month of June to honor and remember him. The family would like to express their gratitude to Kitsap Cremation and Burial in Port Orchard, Washington, for their assistance during this difficult time.

Brian David Farr was a remarkable man who touched the lives of many. His legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Brian was an outstanding and wonderful individual, who I had a chance to work with at Submarine Base Bangor. He always treated others with kindness and a smile. He was a hard worker, but always had time to answer a question or to provide valuable input. He was looked up to by others, and was an amazing and awesome individual. He will be missed, but he will be remembered forever. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family!

I knew Brian because of his close friendship with my dad, Dennis Rickabaugh. As the years went by and the rounds of golf together added up, Brian became my friend as well. He was a loyal friend that cared deeply about those in his circle. I will miss my friend, very much, and I am honored to have had the opportunity to call him friend. Thoughts and prayers are with the family on behalf of the Rickabaugh family.

I was fortunate to play a round of golf with Brian many years ago and while visiting Seattle a few years ago, had a couple of really good craft beers. I always had a really good time when I was around him. Great memories!
