GUNDERSON, Brian David
July 8, 1948 – March 5, 2016
On March 5, 2016, Brian Gunderson passed away peacefully while vacationing in Yuma, Arizona.
Brian leaves to mourn his loving wife of 48 years, Bev; son, Joel (Leona); grandchildren, Kaleeah and Haley; daughter, Shyvonne (Rolland); grandchildren, Orren and Kyleigh; sister-in-law, Elaine; nephews, Kelly and Jason and their families; and many dear relatives and friends. Predeceased by his father, Carl (1979); mother, Evelyn (2011); and brother, Dale (2007).
Brian was raised in Whitecourt and spent his entire working career in the oilpatch where co-workers became life long friends. His love of golf and curling also created many strong friendships. He enjoyed get-togethers with family and friends, where he entertained everyone with his embellished anecdotes. Brian is now resting in peace free of diabetes.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the Westward Community Centre, Highway 32 South – 8 kilometres from Whitecourt. Pastor Deborah Springer officiating. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to Whitecourt United Church, Box 954, Whitecourt, AB T7S 1N9 or Friends of Whitecourt Society, Box 1101, Whitecourt, AB T7S 1P1 or the Alberta Diabetes Foundation, 8602 – 112 Street, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB T6G 2E1.

Dear Bev and Family,
Brian will always hold a special place in my heart and my memories of Whitecourt and Windfall. Without Brian's friendship and mentoring, my life and career would have been totally different. I will always remember his kindness and his generosity. Wishing you and your family our sincere condolences.
