Brian Alfred Koenig, 78+, of La Quinta, CA, passed away on November 7, 2023. He was born on December 14, 1944, in Chicago, IL, to the late Alfred J. Koenig and Ann P. Koenig. Brian was a caring and intelligent person who valued family, friends, and pets.

Brian is survived by his loving spouse of 51+ years, Sheila A. Koenig, and his son, Chris M. Koenig. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred J. Koenig, his mother, Ann P. Koenig, and his stepmother, Amy L. Koenig.

In his educational pursuits, Brian attended Libertyville High School in Libertyville, IL. He furthered his studies at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Arizona.

Brian served in the Army as a Meteorology Observer from 1965 to 1968, utilizing his skills to provide vital weather information. He was proud of his military associations.

Throughout his career, Brian dedicated nearly 40 years to geology and geochemistry. He worked at The Geysers in Northern California for Unocal Corporation, The Salton Sea in Southern California for CalEnergy Operating Corporation, and College of the Desert in Palm Desert, CA. Additionally, he was a self-employed geothermal consultant, operating under the name Terra Calor Company.

Outside of his professional life, Brian enjoyed photography, hiking, music, and Scouting.
