Brian Meharg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 17, 2021.
April 1, 1959 - July 12, 2021
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Brian - affectionately known as Red, at the age of 62. While Brian faced many health challenges over the last 13 years, he did so without complaint. He was truly unflappable. Loving and cherished husband of Janice, proud and loving father of Matthew and Stephanie, fur dad to Bunker and Bella. He will be forever remembered by sister Lorrie (John), and brother Paul Corby. Fondly remembered by step siblings Mark, Jane, and Tom Kirkby. Lovingly adored by in-laws Bill and Barbara Bell. Brian was predeceased by his mother Jeanne Boucher and father Gerry Meharg. Brian was a lifelong learner, who had a passion for expanding his knowledge and understanding of the world around him. He was the guy we all turned to for advice. Sage advice. His love of learning carried him many places through his career - from teacher, to real estate broker, building and land development, and finally the storage industry. Brian's first love was Jack Lake, where he cottaged his entire life. There was just nowhere else on earth he would rather be. Brian was a warm, caring and humble man - our gentle giant. He had a knack for engaging with everyone in his presence. He found pleasure in bringing people together. His love for his family and friends was immense, but his children were at the heart of everything he did. He would often remark that "they are the very best of both of us." Brian faced all of his challenges with grace, and he would expect the same from us. Carry him forward in your heart. While his loss is devastating, his presence in our lives was nothing short of a blessing. Godspeed Big Guy - You were SO loved. A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Box 388, Uxbridge L9P 1M8 (905-852-3073). In lieu of donations we ask that you pay it forward, as Brian always would. And tuck a little away for the unexpected. Online condolences can be made at www.lowandlow.ca

It is with great sadness that I have just learned of Brian’s passing.
He was a loyal, true and compassionate individual that I had the great privilege of calling me step-brother-in-law for many years.
Brian you are truly in the arms of the angel’s.
My deepest condolences to Janice and your children.

I was 16 and my parents sent me to Pickering College i remember watching my parents drive away the first day it was a lonely feeling .
Then the guy walks up and says Hi Mike I m Brian that smile that warm hello that small joke
made my start so much easier and started a great friendship that last for 40 plus years .
Brian you were class act , a true friend to all of us you showed no limits to friendship respect and kindness to us Pickering boys .
Your passion for knowledge ,love of variety of music ,you acting skills in plays which we did together in Charlies Aunt .
My friend the Quakers taught us to love, care ,give ,reason, and non violence.
But most of fellowship of friends you were the perfect example.
May God hold you in his arms and welcome you like you welcomed me many years ago.
Till we meet again
Cheers
