Brian Potter Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 26, 2025.
Brian Allen Potter

Born February 3, 1985

Passed January 22, 2025

Brian passed peacefully at 12:50 am on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Wellspan York Hospital following an unexpected health emergency the previous morning.

In life, Brian was known best for his love and devotion to his family, his creativity and imagination, and keeping up the spirits of those around him with a smile and a song. His flair for the dramatic arts and storytelling began at a young age and carried with him through the years. Telling tales of fantasy and adventure was honed at the roleplaying table where he made lifelong friends and which ultimately inspired his becoming a published author. He loved live theater, participating in community and school productions, one of which sparked a high school romance that became a marriage lasting twenty-one years and created two amazing children.

Brian's spirit was preceded by his stepfather, Roger D. Leeper, his father, David L. Potter, and his maternal grandfather, Richard E. Leonard.

Brian is survived by his wife, Stepheni L. Potter, their children, Blake D. and Olivia R., his mother, Jeanine D. Leeper, his brothers, Jason R. Potter and David W. Potter, as well as a large extended family and a great host of friends.

Brian's legacy will continue far beyond his departure from this world. In accordance with his wishes, his physical body has been donated for organ transplant with Gift of Life and for medical research and education with Anatomy Gifts Registry. There will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, February 1st, 2025. Details are available from the family upon request.

In lieu of flowers, please consider:

- A donation to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. A memorial in Brian's name has been registered with the BAF and can be found at this link. https://give.bafound.org/site/TR/Events/General?px=1181474&pg=personal&fr_id=1040

- Supporting your local community or children's theater. The price of a ticket and attendance at a show is always appreciated.

For non-monetary gestures to honor Brian's memory, please consider any or all of the following: crank up the radio at work and sing along, write the story that's been bouncing around in your head, play a board game with family or friends, read a story to your favorite kid and do the voices, snuggle up with your favorite person to rewatch a movie you both love and quote all the lines to each other, or just be a good person for the sake of being a good person.

Brian's continuing legacy also includes the upcoming publication of the sequel to his first novel, "Bought with Blood." For updates on the release of the sequel, "Tainted with Blood," please follow SthenoType (publisher) on social media.

"Let us flourish, let us fight, let us love, let us journey.

Let. Us. Be." - Brian Potter
