Donald Talbott Obituary

Longtime local resident Don Talbott, 69, of Kalama died Dec. 23, 2007.

Don was born April 4, 1938, to Clarence and Frances (Lowe) Talbott in Los Angeles. The family moved to Rainier in 1947, where he graduated from Rainier High School in 1956.

He served four years in the Air Force before moving back to Rainier and marrying Rena Janvrin in 1961. Don and his family moved to Kalama 35 years ago and have wintered in Palm Desert Calif., since retiring in 1994. Don was a local longshoreman for more than 30 years.

He had a dynamic personality and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Don leaves behind his wife, Rena; three daughters, Kim Swart, Nicole Mackey and Kecia Talbott; and two grandsons, Jordan Mackey and Dakota DePuy.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Columbia Funeral Service. A reception will follow at the ILWU Hall in Longview. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at Hudson Cemetery in Rainier. The viewing will be held from noon to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632, or a charity of choice.
