Brian Zachary "Zach" Wilson

Gibsonville

Mr. Brian Zachary "Zach" Wilson, 18, of 7587 Dutchman Lane, Gibsonville and 515 MacArthur Lane, Burlington died at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 11:09 p.m.

Our Lord in Heaven opened His loving arms and welcomed a new angel, Brian Zachary Wilson. Zach, as he was known, was an incredible and vibrant young man, always smiling and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. For those of us fortunate enough to know and love Zach, we are the better for it. His good looks and keen smile were a reflection of his beautiful heart and love of life. We will miss you Zach, immensely, but are comforted by knowing you rest with our Lord and Savior for "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." Revelations 21:4.

The family has received great comfort from the following words; "Every good and perfect gift comes from above." James 1:17. Zachary was our perfect gift. Eighteen years of love and blessings. "Of all the people on earth, the Lord God has chosen you to be his own special treasure." Deuteronomy 7:6.

A native of Wake County, he was the son of Brian A. Wilson and Tonia Paschal Melton, who survive. He was a student at Western Alamance High School where he played football and was a member of the Key Club. Zach worked part time in the grill at Alamance Country Club. Zach attended Powerline Church of the Nazarene and was a lifelong member of Davis Street United Methodist Church. He was an avid N. C. State fan and a member of the Wolfpack Club since birth. Zach was a vibrant young man who loved life and lived it his way.

In addition to his father of Burlington and mother and her husband Tommy, of Gibsonville, survivors include a sister, Savanah Leigh Wilson of Charlotte; brother, Dale Lynn "Hunter" Hughes of Gibsonville; step-brother, Caleb Shane Melton of Mebane; maternal grandparents, Terry and Deborah Paschal of Burlington; paternal grandparents, Butch and Brenda Wilson of Burlington; maternal great-grandmother, Edna Paschal of Reidsville, former step-father, Dale Hughes of Burlington; aunts and uncles, Cameron Paschal of Burlington, Lindsey Perkins and husband Shawn of Burlington and Ed Wilson and wife Sybil of Burlington; cousins, Ashlyn Paschal, Eliza Perkins, Lelia Wilson, Hugh Wilson IV, Joshua Perkins and Jacob Perkins

A Celebration of Zach's life was held outdoors, at the home of his mother at 7587 Dutchman Lane, Gibsonville on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 12:00 noon. Family and friends were invited to attend. Dress casually, bring a lawn chair, your fishing pole, and share Zach's love of God's beautiful creation.

The family requests that any gifts of remembrance or food items be taken to the residence of the maternal grandparents, Terry and Deborah Paschal, 2453 Hodges Road, Burlington, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zach Wilson Memorial Fund, C/O American National Bank, 3101 South Church Street, Burlington, NC 27215 or to Allied Churches of Alamance County, P.O. Box 2581, Burlington, NC 27216.

We are certain Zach would leave you with these final words;

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.

I'm following the path God laid for me.

I took His hand when I heard him call,

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way.

I found that place at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void,

then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,

Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life's been full, I've savored much.

Good friends, good times,

a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.

Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me…

God wanted me now,

He set me free.

I hardly know where to start. My heart is just so heavy and hurting for all of you. I hope the prayers will help sustain you now and as time goes on. I know I will never have all the answers as to why things happen that tear our hearts apart, but I have to have faith that God does have a plan for us. I'm so thankful He puts people around us to help us as we learn to deal with tragedy. I will be in touch again, soon. Love, prayers, and hugs.
