Brook Moore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 10 to Dec. 17, 2023.
Brook was the middle child and only son of Bill and Dyanne Moore, and grew up surrounded by two sisters, extended family and many friends in Decatur, AL. He was part of the 6th generation of his family to attend Auburn University and later graduated from his mother's alma mater, MTSU. Brook was as charming and charismatic as they come, succeeding in sales and eventually finding peace working with his hands for a landscaping business in the beautiful mountains near Bakersfield, CA. He exuded love and was known for his huge heart, giving spirit, warm smile and ready laugh. He adored music and credits his father for planting that seed early in his happy childhood. He was a loving son, brother, father, uncle and friend. He cherished his family more than anything and stood firm in his belief that he was a beloved child of God. He fought a relentless battle here on earth but that didn't stop his light from shining through. He is survived by his parents Bill and Dyanne Moore, his daughter Madison, his sisters Laurel and Melissa, his nieces Amelia, Livy, Morgan and Sophie and his partner Ashley. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Boyd and Irene Mason and Bill and Peggy Moore. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 16 at 11:00am in the St. John's Library with services to follow at noon at St. John's Episcopal Church in Decatur, AL.

Brooks' dad was my mom's boss growing up. The Moores were always a part of our lives. Brooks was always positive and good, even in the earliest memories I have of him. An example of how to be good to people. These struggles, what he went through, they don't define who we are. How we live, who we help, who we love. That's what matters. Brooks did all that well.

Too many memories to even begin. Definitely a bright light shined from your soul to the world of all who knew you! Rest in peace my sweet friend. Gone too soon, and will be missed dearly. My deepest sympathy to your family also.

I shared my life with his beautiful soul and we squeezed as much life as we possibly could in the time we had. We traveled, went camping, enjoyed festivals, gazed at the stars, surrounded ourselves with our incredible friends and family, went to comedy shows, meditated together and loved each other endlessly. Everything reminds me of his smile, his love, his infectious laughter, his charm. When I look at the stars, I see the twinkle in his eyes and his heart in mine. I will carry him with me thru the rest of my life.
