Myrtle Beach, SC - Formerly of Washingtonville, NY
Brooks M. Hall born on May 17, 1958 in Nyack, NY passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on April 11, 2021 in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Raised in Garnerville, NY, a graduate and avid wrestler and football player from North Rockland High School class of 1976, he went on to continue playing football for Drake University in Iowa.
Brooks led a full career through to retirement with local 580 Ironworkers NYC where he is referred to by many as "A legend".
Brooks was the rock of his family; predeceased by his parents, Harold and Rose Hall and great-grandson, Ian Kyle Jr. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Gillespie Hall; children and their spouses: Cheryl and Igg Birnbryer, Lori and Arnold Banker, and Brooks and Alison Hall; grandchildren: Alyssa, Kiersten (Jared), Kali (along with their dad, Chris Laux), Morgan (Ian), Madison, Steven, Brooksy and Mia; great-grandchildren: Aubree, Noah and Maci; siblings: Corinne (Jimmy), Bobby (Carolyn), Robin (Bill) and Margaret (Emmett); in laws: William and Nancy Gillespie, Billy (Patti), Tommy (Maureen) and Robert (Jane); as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
To know Brooks was to love him. He lived his life to the fullest on his own terms and was loved more for it. He loved spending time with his best friend, Shogun. Peaceful Valley, Hanleys and Christmas morning breakfasts will never be the same without him. He was a loving dedicated family man and "Pop" to everyone.
He is and always will be to all who were blessed to know him as…
THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND.
A Funeral Mass in his honor will be held at Noon on Friday, May 14, 2021 at St. Mary's Church, Goshen Ave. Washingtonville, NY.

Wow, Brooks has been in heaven for one year already. I can bet that he is wrestling angels and tackling other great running backs that made the team of the Heavenly host. Brooks was a tough guy that was on the side of good. I never saw him not smiling. Maybe he just thought I was funny. Great guy with a great wife that loved him tremendously. He is one of my all-time favorite North Rockland characters who blazes his own path. It will be great to team up with him again and all my other friends that have gone on before me.

We called him Rock when we lived together at WCC. 15 athletes living together Animal House style. We were bouncers together at a club in Port Chester (Happy Daze.) We lost touch over the years but when I think of him I have memories of some of the greatest times of my life.

Sweet childhood memories of my cousin, Brooks--our 4th of July picnics with the large extended family--with visits (too few!) over the years. I remember him as strong, yet gentle--with a ready smile. Devoted to family and always ready to help. Keeping all of you in prayers--wish I could be with you tomorrow. Hugs & Love, Debbie

To know Brooks is to love him. I was devastated over his passing. Brooks could could bring laughter into any room that he ventured into. He wouldn’t do to help you. Gone too soon my friend. Brooks live life to the fullest. I'm sure that he had the same effect on everyone who met him at all the different stages of his life as he did to us at North Rockland. He was a great teammate and I loved playing with him by my side for many games. We were team captains together for two games. We won both those games!!! I have been praying for Jo-Ann and the whole family. I wish I could make it to the funeral but can't. I'm sure it would be a great reunion with many of my old teammates too.

We are so saddened by the news of Brook's passing. He was someone we knew from our seasonal campground, upon first meeting Brooks, we liked him a lot, a very friendly helpful person. We will miss him driving by on his quad with his dog, Shogun running along. May he rest in peace with the angels.

He had a presence that reflected to always be there to help anyone who needed help and wanting nothing in return. His unselfish way about him was always displayed to all. He will be very much missed and a void that cannot be replaced. A real gentleman.
