Bruce Bastian Obituary
Bruce Bastian was a tech entrepreneur who co-founded the WordPerfect software company in the early days of home computing. He went on to become a prominent Utah philanthropist and a supporter of the LGBT community.

I got in touch with him while living in Orem Utah. He sent me a reply and let me know that he wasn´t the same person that I knew as one of the missionaries that taught us in Bari, Italy. I let him know that my father, that actually had kicked him out, had later joined the church and was the first Italian Branch President in the area. My two brothers, Michael and Gennaro, served missions and so did most of the grandchildren. My parents served a mission together in the Swiss Temple. They are buried in the Provo Cemetery. We are all grateful for his service as a missionary in Italy as our entire life changed. We would like to express our deepest sympathy to his family and wish them strength and comfort in the days ahead. We are very grateful for the Gospel and the wonderful gift we have received.

This is Santina Fazio Smith- Bruce Bastian was one of the missionaries that taught us the Gospel and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I just remember him as a missionary that taught us and later saw him once while I was at BYU
