Bruce Coffin Obituary
85, of Sun City West, Arizona passed away on January 1, 2010. On Friday January 1st, 2010, Bruce E. Coffin, Sr. passed away suddenly from heart failure. He was a resident of Sun City West, AZ for the past 25 years with his wife, Virginia. Bruce was born in Independence, Missouri, the only son of George and Nina Coffin. He attended The University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas on a football scholarship. He graduated with a degree in Architectural Engineering and went on to build custom homes in the Kansas City area for over 30 years. He was active in the Home Builders Association and was local president for 4 years. Bruce was a World War II veteran, Prisoner of War, Purple Heart recipient and active in the local Aqua Fria Chapter of Ex POWs. He raised his family of six in Prairie Village, Kansas and attended the Village Presbyterian Church for many years. He will be forever loved and sorely missed by his family and friends. Virginia, wife of 62 years; Susie Pfanmiller (Dave) of Alexandria, VA; RuthAnn Armstrong (Bob) of San Jose, CA; Jane Coffin (Sutter) of San Jose, CA; and Bruce Coffin, Jr (Sheri) of Leawood, Kansas. 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons and a third one due in April 2010. Services were held at Desert Palms Presbyterian Church in Sun City West, Arizona Donations can be made in Bruce's memory to: Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinatti, Ohio 45250

Dear Virginia,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I so admired Bruce and his always professional and business-like approach--a too uncommon style in the home building field. Bruce dates back for me to our first investment club membership and through all those years that I was in the tile business. I extend my heartfelt sympathy to you and your now large extended family.
