Bruce Davy died peacefully in his sleep February 12th. He was 81. He was born in Rochester, New York to Sylvia and Clifford Davy. In high school, he was chosen for an exchange program in Belgium and remained in contact with his host family until his death. Bruce served as a US Army nuclear specialist and attained the rank of E6 (Staff Sergeant) before his honorable discharge. While attending the University of Rochester, he met his wife, Kathy. After their graduation and marriage in 1968, Bruce received his Master's in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. The couple moved to Manhattan Beach in 1973 where Bruce opened an acoustical consulting firm, Davy and Associates. His clients included luxury hotels, theme parks, music venues, rock stars and restaurants. Bruce was very

active in AYSO Soccer and served as Regional Commissioner in the late 1980s. He also enjoyed coaching his daughters' soccer teams. Bruce served for a time on the Manhattan Beach Planning Commission. He enjoyed running and was proud to have run in the first ever Manhattan Beach Hometown Run; he ran every year for the next thirty years. In his later years, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Bruce is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy, his two daughters, Jessica (Andy) Taylor and Johanna (Chris) Espe, and four grandchildren, Calla, Graham, June, and Cordelia. Memorial service will be held at Manhattan Beach Community Church on March 11th at 2pm.
