Bruce DEVALL Obituary
Passed away peacefully on January 13, 2012 surrounded by his devoted wife, Yvonne (nee Quinn), with whom he recently celebrated 40 years of marriage, and his beloved daughters. Bruce was born April 22, 1946, in Arvida, Quebec, to Rosalind (2009) and Douglas (2009). Dear father of Heidi Devall (Toronto), Jennifer and David Wade (Switzerland) and Laura and Steve Tultz (Brooklin, ON). Proud Grandpa of Chloe and Griffin Wade and Jack and Ethan Tultz. Also survived by his brother John (Gayle) of Chatsworth, ON and his sister Cheryl (Bill) of Digby, NS. Dearly loved son- in-law of Helen Quinn (London) and the late Ronald (1983). Survived by Yvonne's three brothers, two sisters and their spouses as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and numerous extended family members. Bruce was a well respected and dedicated family doctor in Kingsville for 36 years. He was an avid Michigan football fan; he loved model railroading and was passionate about seeing the world. Special thanks to Dr. Horen and the nursing staff at Leamington District Memorial Hospital (LDMH) for their exceptional care. My condolences to the Devall family. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Devall this summer, and it was a truly wonderful experience. I learned so much from him, not only about medicine, but how to be a caring and compassionate doctor. He shared much of his wisdom (and funny stories!) with me. I feel very lucky to have known him. He was a mentor and a friend, and he will be greatly missed.

Dr. Devall was a great doctor. He was an old school one that had a great bedside manner. You were always greeted with a smile and often a warm or funny story. He was my family doctor for over 30 years and our family will miss him. You never looked forward to the dentist but you always looked forward to seeing Dr. Devall. How do I start, to say everything I feel to his wonderful wife and family . Other than Thank you for sharing such a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and Doctor with my family for 35-36 yrs.He was a great doctor and sounding board.He was more like part of my family has well, house calls when my kids were little when I had no way in. He cried with me while he cared for my daughter's foot when she burned it, and so many more childhood accidents.I will miss his smile and caring personality,more than just his profession.His jokes, laughter, and his compassion was endless.

Dear Yvonne and girls, Bruce loved you all passionately, and took great pride in his cherished and growing family. Bruce was our friend and our hero. He lifted us up and helped us to clear many hurdles over the years. He was a man with the courage of his convictions. A man of integrity and good character. He was gentle and soft-spoken. He was at times humorous and playful, but very serious when warranted. He had a passion for life that was infectious. He was truly a man for all seasons. We shall miss him terribly, and will always remember him with love and respect.

Dr Devall was a great guy, always laughing and always had a story to tell me about his travels or his daughter's teaching career. A trip to the doctor's office seemed more like a visit with an old friend. My condolences to his family!

This is such a shock....and loss. He was a great man and doctor. He was our family doctor for the past 20+ years; going to see him wasn't really like going to the doctor at all.His smiling face and his funny stories will be missed dearly.

It is a shock to hear of Dr. Devall's passing. When visiting his office he was always up beat and positive. When I would leave he would always say, "behave young lady and be careful out there. See you later." He never rushed any one out of the appointment. He loved to talk of his travels and his family. We talked of hospital and nursing home dilemmas. He was such a knowledgeable man and had a great sense of humour. He is going to be missed by many but I am certain that the family will have lots of fond memories of a man who loved life and loved being a doctor even more.
