Bruce Jones

Bruce Robert Jones, born June 7, 1959, in Norwich, CT, to the late Edward "Rebel" Jones and Frances (Toscano), passed peacefully at home, on Apr. 5, 2025 after a long illness. He is survived by his loving "wife" of almost 20 years, Debra DeVries, his big sister, Laurene Shewan (Tom), his son Richard, niece Kim Humbert (Chester), "step" daughters Sara Farr (Lloyd), Rose Provencher (Tom), Audrey Nasinnyk and Mary DiBenedetto. Grandchildren Allysha & Caiden, "step" grandchildren Kayla, Gabriel, Atticus, Tommy, Zachary, Cody, Brooke, Carson & Jordan. Great-granddaughter, Amelia. And many more loving family members. He is also predeceased by his big brothers Eddie and Dana.

Bruce had a kind & generous soul that made people like him immediately. He could talk to anyone, anywhere. And he had a sense of humor that showed right to the end.

Animals were drawn to him as well. He adopted unwanted Dobermans in the past and cats in his later years.

He held several jobs over the course of his lifetime, but his favorite was Evergreen Nursery where he discovered his gift for creating beautiful patios and walls out of stone.

The following is a list of things he loved (not necessarily in order of how much): Family, friends, riding motorcycles, kayaking, eating pizza, pasta, burgers, a good steak w/double mashed and ice cream, building/making/fixing things, swimming, sailing, mini-golfing, hiking, watching NASCAR races, hockey games, flying SIMS with his buddies, waterfalls, day trips & vacationing. In his last years, he enjoyed sitting outside soaking up the sun and watching the birds and rabbits, building plane and car models, collecting hockey cards & flying his drone (which he almost got in trouble for!)

Dislikes: Vegetables and animal cruelty.

Everyone who knew him well loved him. We will all miss him very much.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 7, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 03:00 PM at The Manor Inn 1636 Meriden-Waterbury Road
