We have been away and have not been able to communicate until now.
I first met Bruce at my first Six Cities meeting in Campbellton in 1987. I was a young first term city councillor from Moncton and Bruce was in his first (of many) term as mayor of Campbellton. We immediately hit it off and became friends until I lost my 1998 election and we never met again. But I did keep track of Bruce and his on and off political career. I never could figure out whether he was a liberal or conservative as he seemed to be equally comfortable dealing with both either party, so long as they were the government! Perhaps this was his greatest strength. He certainly could bring the Campbellton area "the goodies" when required no matter who was in Fredericton or Ottawa. I missed our many chats over a beverage or three.
Lynn, you were always the gracious spouse of the mayor and I suspect was also the secret of his political success. You (and your family) have my sympathy.
S. Boyd Anderson, Moncton City Councillor 1986 - 1998.

Lynn, Ann-Marie joins me in extending to you and family our deepest sympathy. His legacy for Campbellton and area was and remains his 2 decades of service and numerous contributions. It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Bruce. He served the people of his community, particularly the people of Campbellton, very well during his tenure as mayor. It was a pleasure having known him. Sad loss indeed.
On my behalf and on behalf of my brother Roger and my sister Lorraine I offer my warmest sympathies to his wife Lynn, his sons, and members of his family.

Dear Mrs. MacIntosh...please except my deepest condolences extended to you and to the MacIntosh family on the Mayor's passing.
I came to know Mayor Bruce through "political channels", both in Fredericton and in Ottawa. He was an ardent, articulate promoter for his community. Bruce always sought to do the very best representing his Campbellton and his New Brunswick.
His passing is a loss for this Province.
Sincerely,
Terry Andow,
Fredericton

In my formative years as the Engineer at the City of Campbellton, Mayor MacIntosh (Bruce) was relentless. Relentless in pursuing the Provincial and Federal Governments in his efforts to improve the quality of life for the residents of the City and surrounding area... I and my colleagues got to tag along to cross the 't's' and dot the 'i's'. I am honored to have accomplished many projects with Bruce under his leadership. I am a better person for his guidance. He was a good guy. Bravo Bruce and Thanks.
