It was only this past week while at Red Pine Camp that I found out Bruce had died. I was sitting in the donated adirondak chair thinking of your parents when someone told me about Bruce. My sincere sympathies, long overdue. I will always remember him as a (younger than me) busy, engaging little kid at Camp. Thanks so much for writing the story of his life. It helped me visualize the man he became.

My vivid dream of Bruce last night led me to google him this morning. I am devastated by his passing. I met him in 1982 during my house sale to his former girlfriend's parents; he had many! We held each other's hand over the years to come; he was always full of surprises, fun and new experiences. I am thankful that I have the memories sharing time with such a remarkable man. Love and peace to all his family and friends, Sandra Benns

I've never had a better friend or wiser mentor than you Bruce. Thanks for being such a great person for so many enjoyable years. I hope heaven doesn't change you that much. I'll see you again my friend.

It is with a sad heart that I leave this message for the family and friends of Bruce Olmsted. We have only known him for a short time, but he always treated us like we have know him forever. We both wish we had more time to just sit and joke the way he always did. I am sure there will be an ATV waiting for you when you reach your final destination.

Our hearts are heavy with the passing of Bruce.
Too soon and far too young.
A true friend through thick and thin.
Always there with a joke, a smile, a jibe. Witty to the end. No one made us laugh more than Bruce.
His signature wit, wry sense of humor and brilliance was tempered with his loveable side. Big and mean on the playing field yet “gentle as a bear” off it.
So glad we had a the chance to spend time with him this summer, most recently at the Spergel wedding where in spite of his failing health he remained fun and upbeat.
We will miss you Bruce.

We are so sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. Although we did not know him well, we knew of his great friendship with Craig Stephens and how close they were. He will be missed by two little girls at the Tuesday night dinners.

It was with great sadness to have heard of Bruce's passing this week. Bruce was an old friend from our days at Nepean High School where we played football together and got into some fun mischief as members of the Key Club. I have fond memories of the "big bear" To Eleanor and the family, my sincere condolences.

Eleanor,
Mark and I were grateful to have spent weekly quality dinners with Bruce at our house, where he and Mark would venture to Highland Farms ( Bruce's favourite food discovery) and grocery shopped. On their return home, Mark would lovingly cook Bruce and me dinner. We shared special moments while we moved back to Toronto with Bruce. He will never be forgotten - and was larger than life. There is not a day that goes by - that I don't think about Bruce moments. We miss him dearly . Love Marla

Dear Eleanor and Valerie, just read about Bruce's passing and his difficult fight with cancer. John and I are so very sorry for your loss of such a great guy. I know now why my Mom & Dad used to hate reading the obit's. They always felt so bad to read about the loss of yet another good friend. Please let us know when the wake will be in Ottawa, as we would like to attend. [email protected]
Thinking of you at this very difficult time. Take care, Cheryl & John
